Kundalini Yoga Classes ~ Pg 11

~The Eight Regulatory Channels~

The Eight Regulatory Channels function as the body's master homeostatic, or balancing mechanism. They harmonize all the internal organs and functions of the body. The doctors of traditional Chinese medicine said that these Channels work to balance the areas of ecess blockage(yang, or hyperfunctioning), and the areas of deficiency (yin, or hypofunctioning).

~The Organ Meridian~

The organ meridians are distinct channels that circulate life energy, Ki, throughout the body. They are thought of as a master communication system of universal life energy, connecting the twelve organs with all other physiological, sensorial, and emotional aspects of the body. The Chinese consider the meridians the web of life.

~Movement Relaxation Series w/Meditation on Everyone~

This is a very beautiful movement meditation that will assist in the relaxation of your body and mind. It is important for us to deeply relax on a daily basis. Stress which builds up can cause physical and mental imbalances and this short yoga set is a beautiful way to release tension in the mind and body. The meditation chants the mantra Humee Hum, Brahm Hum and translates to We are We, We are God. This meditation is meant to awaken this realization: that you are spirit, and everyone around you is spirit.

~Kriya for Inner & Outer Vision~

This series of exercises uses the eyes and eye pressure to create different states of consciousness. Each eye position alters the brain frequencies and the way thoughts are transformed in the mind. This kriya brings deep relaxation and calmness. It causes the tension in all the eye muscles to relax so that abnormal vision can decrease. The eyes are keys to entering the vision of the inner world as well as the outer world.

~Grace of God Meditation~

This meditation is easy to do and has a powerful effect on your mind and body. The breath sequence breaks stressful breath patterns. When you are under stress, you often unconsciously exaggerate your inhalation or exhalation, which upsets your energy balance.

Meditation on Your Self as a Yogi

This is a silent meditation in which you’re asked to meditate on yourself as a being that is absolutely pure, here by the will of the Divine and not by your own individual will. ~The Guru Ram Das Mantra~

This is a mantra of self-healing, humility, relaxation, protective grace, and emotional relief. It calls on the spirit of Guru Ram Das.

The Guru Ram Das mantra is an ashtang mantra. Ashtang mantras have eight parts. They catalyze the kundalini energy to initiate through your own effort and devotion. The first part of the mantra, Guru Guru Wahe Guru, projects the mind to the Infinite, the source of knowledge and ecstasy. The second part, Guru Ram Das Guru, means “the wisdom that comes as a servant of the Infinite.”

This mantra projects the mind to the Infinite and then brings finite guidance on a practical level.

~Meditation to Teach You to Pray~

This meditation is to give you the experience of prayer. It focuses you on the impact of your vibration, the need to have your whole mind present, and the reality that you are beyond boundary. If you become a crystallized identity, a lens, then the Infinite can focus through you and be as you. That is prayer.

Your prayer is like a stone which is dropped in the middle of a pool of water. It creates waves and ripples. Feel yourself as the waves and ripples go on and on unto Infinity.

~Kriya to Withstand the Pressure of Time~

~Keeping the Body Beautiful Kriya~

The body is a temple of human expression and evolvement. We are often told by the media and friends that it wears out, has many illnesses, and is extremely fragile. In fact, the body is sensitive and self-repairing.Our own habits of possession, constriction, anger, tension, and attachment set up energy patterns within the body that disrupt the normal flow of vital energy. This opens the door to disease, both physical and mental. After all, we are creators also, and, to a certain extent, create the environments we want to live in. We create our bodies with each thought and activity, as well as with each meal. So we need to clean the body and readjust the flow of energy periodically since we are all products of our habits and since few of us are without ego.

~ Body Adjustment to Elevate the Spirit~

Disease comes from structural change. This is the oriental, ancient way of looking at it. This body and its bones have no screws and bolts. It is held together by tissue and by muscle. During one’s life many movements occur in the body simultaneously influencing the action of the muscles. Certain muscles are stronger and hold the skeleton in a different way than the other muscles. This can lead to physical problems. Life becomes imbalanced and irritation sets in.

The whole body structure is responsible for one’s elevation, for one’s “being-ness.” A car has its gas, it has transmission, and it starts. If one part is missing, or if just a little air does not get to the gas, it dies. It is the same with the body.

Mantra: Ardaas bhayee, amar daas guroo,

Amar daas guroo, ardaas bhayee,

Raam daas guroo, raam daas guroo,

Raam daas guroo, sachee sahee.

Translation: The Grace of Guru Amar  Das (who is the hope of the hopeless) and Guru Ram Das (who is the King of the yogis and bestower of blessings past, present, and future) guarantee the prayer will be answered and all one's needs provided for.

~A Short & Sweet Kriya to Get the Energy Moving~

This is a simple set of exercises. It only takes 22 minutes and makes the back feel great and gets the energy moving. It is a good series to do after you wake up in the morning or before bed at night. It is also a good series to do before a longer meditation or meditative kriya.

In all Kundalini Yoga kriyas (exercises and sets of exercises), it is recommended (especially for beginners) to relax after each posture to allow the body to process the changes from the exercise before moving on to the next one, unless otherwise specified.
