The Eight Regulatory Channels function as the body's master homeostatic, or balancing mechanism. They harmonize all the internal organs and functions of the body. The doctors of traditional Chinese medicine said that these Channels work to balance the areas of ecess blockage(yang, or hyperfunctioning), and the areas of deficiency (yin, or hypofunctioning).

The Guru Ram Das mantra is an ashtang mantra. Ashtang mantras have eight parts. They catalyze the kundalini energy to initiate through your own effort and devotion. The first part of the mantra, Guru Guru Wahe Guru, projects the mind to the Infinite, the source of knowledge and ecstasy. The second part, Guru Ram Das Guru, means “the wisdom that comes as a servant of the Infinite.”

The body is a temple of human expression and evolvement. We are often told by the media and friends that it wears out, has many illnesses, and is extremely fragile. In fact, the body is sensitive and self-repairing.Our own habits of possession, constriction, anger, tension, and attachment set up energy patterns within the body that disrupt the normal flow of vital energy. This opens the door to disease, both physical and mental. After all, we are creators also, and, to a certain extent, create the environments we want to live in. We create our bodies with each thought and activity, as well as with each meal. So we need to clean the body and readjust the flow of energy periodically since we are all products of our habits and since few of us are without ego.
05.04.24
Disease comes from structural change. This is the oriental, ancient way of looking at it. This body and its bones have no screws and bolts. It is held together by tissue and by muscle. During one’s life many movements occur in the body simultaneously influencing the action of the muscles. Certain muscles are stronger and hold the skeleton in a different way than the other muscles. This can lead to physical problems. Life becomes imbalanced and irritation sets in.
The whole body structure is responsible for one’s elevation, for one’s “being-ness.” A car has its gas, it has transmission, and it starts. If one part is missing, or if just a little air does not get to the gas, it dies. It is the same with the body.

This is a simple set of exercises. It only takes 22 minutes and makes the back feel great and gets the energy moving. It is a good series to do after you wake up in the morning or before bed at night. It is also a good series to do before a longer meditation or meditative kriya.
In all Kundalini Yoga kriyas (exercises and sets of exercises), it is recommended (especially for beginners) to relax after each posture to allow the body to process the changes from the exercise before moving on to the next one, unless otherwise specified.
A morning practoice or
an evening practice.
This set works to stimulate the navel point area so that we can experience “Sukh Nidra,” which is comfortable happy sleep. Ideally, if you do these exercises before bed and then go to sleep for the night, it will take away weird dreams and give you wonderful subconscious clearance.
