Helping You Embrace Health & Balance Since 2015
As a young girl, health was not something I thought much about. I am the eldest of four children and as most, we focused on fun! It was later in college when I really took an interest in my health. I would suffer about two or more times a year with terrible sinus infections that we put me in bed unable to lift my head off the pillow. Not fun! I started my journey into understanding the body, support of vitamins and definitely, all foods are not a like. I have always been a huge plant lover! When my husband and I got together, we probably had over a hundred plants between the two of us. Now, you can see why American Herbalism was where I began. The notion of using the plants that grow around us to heal our wows is amazing and brilliant! The journey of healing naturally had begun. I had been exposed shortly after to a philosophy called Live Blood Cell Analysis. You take a drop of blood from your finger and view it under a high powered darkfield microscope and SEE what is going on in the body. Imagine! I was fascinated and had to learn more. Now, thirteen years later, I am still sharing these findings in Live Blood Cell Analysis and Dry Blood Cell Analysis with clients. I am definitely the kind of person who loves to learn. I find a subject of interest and I must devour it. Life has an interesting way of teaching us, if you pay attention. In 2014, I was having such horrific circulatory issues, numbness in my hands, especially at night. It made for many uncomfortable and sleepless nights. Until I found ‘Rebounding.’ It is considered a great way to improve cardiovascular health, circulation, lymphatic movement, coordination, and bone density, suitable for most fitness levels. I became certified to teach Rebounding. My sleepless nights were gone! You may be seeing a pattern…I love to learn! And, I would find that when supporting and guiding my clients with their health needs, the needs were always multifaceted. It’s never just about poor digestion or headaches, etc. My next adventure was deciding to take the Kundalini Yoga teacher training but I had no intentions of teaching. I want to gain the scientific knowledge behind the philosophy. For example: Breathing in a certain way can calm the nervous system or wake you up! Breathing in a particular body posture can relieve pain. There were so many aspects of this practice I could share with my clients to further support their health journeys. However, once I finished my program, I felt the call to also teach Kundalini Yoga, for myself and for others. There are other areas of health that I have added to my ‘tool bag’ as well, like; Auricular Therapy (ear acupuncture), Iridology (the study of the eye to understand what is happening in the body), Kinesiology (muscle testing), and let’s not forget my college education in psychology. All of these areas of study have added to my understanding of the body and its needs, but where I learned the most was in my time with my mom. She was a family nurse practitioner of functional medicine. My desire to learn more and more came from her. She was always advancing her knowledge and education. She shared with me so much that I could never get it all on paper, but what I will always remember from her is; ‘you can learn so much from your patients/clients, you just have to listen.’ I have become an excellent listener!
